Sonu Sood, post his meeting with Maharashtra’s CM, downplayed the sharp criticism of Sanjay Raut and said that every political party in India has been praising and supporting him.
Sonu Sood denied of any misunderstanding with the government of Maharashtra as he said, “They are also supporting it and it’s not about any particular party or anything… we have to support all the people who are suffering… every party from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari has supported me,”.
Sanjay Raut, in the weekly column of Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamna, wrote that Sonu Soon would promote any political party if the Bollywood actor is paid well. He added, “Sood is an actor whose profession is to deliver dialogues scripted by someone else and make a living out of it. There are many people like Sood who would promote any political party if paid well,”.
When his statement drew major backlash upon himself, Sanjay Raut defended his the state government, which is a union of three political parties the Congress party, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena, over its handling of the migrant worker crisis as he said, “No other state could have treated migrant workers the way they have been taken care of by the Maharashtra government.”
As Sonu Sood reached the residence of the CM of Maharashtra, Sanjay Raut tweeted a rather snide remark saying, “In the end, Sonu Sood has found the address of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He has reached Matoshree. Jai Maharashtra”, he tweeted in Marathi.
