The global aero-engine manufacturing company, Rolls Royce, on Monday, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) for joint research programmes.
Rolly Royce has said that it will send its engineers to IIT-M to pursue higher education, as per the agreement.
According to the MoU, IIT-M and Rolls Royce, through their collaboration, will aim to pursue advanced research for the requirements of the company in the fields relevant to future technological and programmatic needs.
Not just this, the collaboration has a Technical Higher Study Framework in which, Rolls Royce will sponsor its select employees to pursue PhD and Masters level studies from IIT Madras. For this, the employee will have to clear the selection process of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the topic should align with Rolls Royce’s strategic research priorities and abilities.
The programme will be open to all the permanent employees at Rolls Royce Engineering Centre in Bengaluru who have completed 36 months (one and a half year) with the company. This initiative aligns with the company’s efforts to encourage growth and career progression of its engineering talent.
