More financial relief coming for Taxi drivers and owners: AAP Government

Delhi’s assembly polls are due in early 2020 and to earn support from over 1.5 lakh taxi owners and drivers AAP government is proposing relaxation on several penal charges and test fees for them.

Yesterday, Kailash Gahlot, Transport Minister gave the proposal a green flag for providing financial reliefs to the taxi drivers of Delhi in the department’s meeting, statement from a senior govt officer.

In August of this year, the government had already waived off the fitness test charges and gave concession on numerous others including penalties levied on autos. In the meeting it was decided that the permit fee will be reduced to Rs. 500 from Rs. 2,000.

The proposal can be put into action once the Delhi Cabinet approves this proposal.
