Adesh Kumar Gupta, the new Chief of BJP Delhi, said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government which is led by the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal is responsible for the deteriorating condition of the national capital.

Gupta said, “We have seen how patients suffering from high temperature were standing in long queues in banquet hall converted into COVID centre. Patients are not getting facilities in your hospitals. We have heard about cases where people have died during the home quarantine.”

Delhi BJP Chief added, “I think Lieutenant Governor did not want to play politics, it is a step forward to contain COVID. Union home minister Amit Shah personally looked into testing and mapping. Delhi government needs to be proactive. The Centre is helping in establishing COVID centres,”.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is scheduled to meet today wherein decision is to be taken to make changes to the rules which require every COVID-19 patient to visit a COVID Care Centre for clinical assessment.

The Kejriwal led government has been strongly opposing the new protocols and on Wednesday, Arbind Kejriwal even requested the Central Government to retract the new system wherein assessment of all COVID-19 patients is required at a government-run facility.

Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi also wrote to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal saying that this new system will not just create problems for the patients but also put more pressure on the government machinery as an infected patient will have to wait in long queues at the centres.

The total number of cases in Delhi have crossed 70,000 making the national capital the worst-hit city in the entire country. India as a whole is currently the 4th worst hit country in the world with the total number of cases reaching almost 4,75,000. 14,914 people in India have lost their lives due to the novel Coronavirus.
