This year 99.34% of students in ICSE have passed while in ISC or the 12th class exams a total of 96.84% of students have passed successfully this year. Having said this, the Council has decided to not release the list of toppers in each class for 2020.
In a release, CISCE said, “Given the exceptional circumstances, this year CISCE will not be publishing a Merit list for either the ICSE or ISC Year 2020 Examinations,”.
Along with the result checking facility on the official website, the Council has also offered the facility to check the results of both ICSE and ISC via SMSs.
This year, the results for ICSE and ISC were prepared differently, as the Council could not conduct exams in 8 papers of ISC and 6 papers of ICSE, the governing body has to come up with an alternate scheme to award scored in the papers which were cancelled.

These pending exams were scheduled in the latter part of March but were initially postponed due to the lockdown put in place on pan India level to contain the Coronavirus outbreak. The exams were then scheduled to be held in the month of July which was then challenged by a group of parents in the Supreme Court of India and after reviewing the petition the Supreme Court directed the Council to cancel the remaining exams and come up with an assessment scheme.
The assessment for the cancelled exams took into account the marks of a student in the 3 best papers for which he/ she gave the written exam and marks awarded in the project work or the internal assessment.
