The leader of the opposition and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis accused Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Minister, Nawab Malik of having linkage to Mumbai blast convict, Dawood Ibrahim. Fadnavis states that Malik struck dubious property deals with two people convicted of the 1993 Mumbai blast – Salim Patel (frontman of Dawood’s sister, Haseena Parker) and Sardar Shahab Ali Khan.
During a media addressal at the BJP Headquarters in Mumbai, ex-CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis unveiled that property of 2.80 acres at a prime location in LBS Marg was purchased by Solidus Investment Private Limited for merely Rs. 30 Lakh. The signatory of the deal negotiated was Nawab Malik’s son, Faraz Malik.
Nawab Malik was a high post bearer in the company but stepped down prior to taking charge of the ministerial post in state government in 2019. Malik’s spouse, Mehjbeen Nawab Malik and son, Aamir Malik are present directors of the company.
The NCP Minister contradicted the allegations communicating that all the transactions were lawful and legitimate. Furthermore, Fadnavis stated that following the property deal and registration, the Malik family paid a remuneration of Rs. 15 lakh to Sardar Shahwali Ali Khan and Rs. 5 lakh to Mohd Salim Patel. He additionally stated that despite the actual deal being priced at Rs. 30 lakh, the actual transaction that took place involved only Rs. 20 lakh.
Fadnavis abhorred Malik’s act of doing business with those who planned a conspiracy, brought RDX and executed blasts all over Mumbai.
Faraz Malik rejected the allegations and said that he was a tenant at the property of Salim Patel and about 400 others were paying taxes. He added that the Maharashtra police is proficient enough to acquire all the details and that he is erroneous.

Sardar Shahwali Khan, who was a member of the team which received firearm training from the mastermind Tiger Menon is presently in jail serving life imprisonment. Fadanvis submitted documents and urged appropriate agencies to carry out an elaborate investigation on the matter.
