  • Subramanian Swamy, MP from the BJP wrote a letter to PMO seeking the status of the investigation
  • CBI said it is currently focusing on the Cell Towers

It has been 145 since the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over the investigation of the Sushant Singh Rajput Death case and it says that it is looking into all aspects of the case and as of now nothing has been ruled out.

Back in October, the team of doctors from All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS) said that as per them the actor was not murdered and it was indeed a suicide case, in its opinion to the CBI.

It dismissed the theories of poisoning and strangling floated by the actor’s family and their lawyer.

Member of Parliament from BJP, Subramanian Swamy, wrote to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) seeking the status of the investigation in this case, after which the PMO sent the letter to the CBI.

In its reply, the CBI wrote that it is “conducting the investigation in a thorough and professional manner using the latest scientific techniques. During the investigation, all the aspects are being looked at and no aspect has been ruled out as on date.”

The CBI added, “During the investigation, advanced mobile forensic equipment including latest software has been used for extraction and analysis of relevant data available in the digital devices and also for the analysis of dump data of the relevant cell tower locations related to the case.

“During the investigation, all the witnesses have been examined to understand the circumstances and apprehensions raised by the complainant and his family members and other independent sources. An intensive and thorough investigation has been carried out in this regard.

“The investigation team along with senior officers visited all places of concern – Aligarh, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Manesar and Patna,” CBI said.

Referring to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, CBI said, “The investigating team and senior officers have visited the place of incident on numerous occasions for better understanding of the circumstances related to the incident.

“The experts of CFSL, New Delhi, considered the best in their field in India, also visited and examined the place of incident. The experts also carried out simulation exercise,” CBI added.

On the 14th of June 2020, the 34 year old Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment, Even though the Mumbai Police Department, based on the autopsy, termed the death as suicide, there was wild speculation over the internet campaigns of justice for the actor along with the allegations from Sushant Singh Rajput’s family raised doubts and that became a part of the overall CBI investigation.

After more than 30 days from Sushant’s death, his father K K Singh filed a case in Bihar in which he accused his lat son’s 28 year old girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family of cheating him financially and mentally harassing him, which drove him to suicide.

Eventually, the probe in Sushant’s death case took a turn towards alleged drug use and Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on the 8th of September by the Narcotics Control Bureau on charges of organising drugs for Mr Rajput.

On the 7th of October she was granted bail, almost 1 month after she was arrested.

Surrounded by the conspiracy theorists, a section of the media and a Tsunami of online hate, Rhea Chakraborty has denied all charges made by Sushant Singh’s father as “total nonsense”.
