On this very day 26 years ago Baazigar movie was released and generated a cult following. The coloured contact lenses used by Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) showed how much impact such a small piece of cosmetic can bring to a character. The movie is said to have laid the foundations for SRK and Kajol’s on screen Jodi on the basis of which they were casted in numerous other movies together.
Apart from the plot twist that nobody saw coming, what gave Baazigar it’s following were its songs, the Abbas-Mastan directorial film had great songs but arguably the best one was ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhen’.
Today, 12th November, 2019, the blockbuster film turned 26, and Kajol took it to her Instagram handle showing how she still does not have kaali kaali aankhen, jokingly reminding us of the song and making us take a walk down the memory lane.
She made a boomerang video of herself winking, and No! not the famous Priya Varrier version, she’s trying to draw our attention to her eyes, thus, the song. She captioned the post as ‘Oops! still don’t have black eyes #26YearsOfBaazigar’.
The post has a pun, Kajol does not have black eyes, indeed they are green, and sister Tanishaa Mukerji does a good job in pointing that out. She commented on Kojol’s post saying ‘Kali Kali Hari Aankhen’ with laughing and heart emojis (emoticons).
You are lying if you say you do not feel like shaking a leg or sing along at the peak of your voice when you hear this song and nobody is around you. The sheer energy that the pair (SRK and Kajol) produce in this song is printed on our minds. We know some of us will go and listen to the song or even watch the video after hearing about is so much, don’t work,

We have a little fact for you which is not known by many, the outfit that SRK wore was indeed designed by his wife Gauri Khan. Gauri gave out the information via her Instagram in September 2019 writing ‘Can’t believe I designed this look in the 90s … Those jeans, #legwarmer tee, bullet belt and a red shirt thrown over. The hand painted jeans were my favourite. #Gaurikhandesigns has come a long way! Major throwback.. @iamsrk @kajol’.
On October 19th, kajol celebrated 24 years of DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge) by sharing a video of here in which she is seen reading a book and wearing glasses, recreating the Simran pose from the 1995 classic. She captioned the post ‘Still got the specs & still reading in weird places even after 24 years. #24YearsOfDDLJ’.
Kajol will be seen in Ajay Devgan’s latest project Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior in which she is said to have a cameo role. The movie will see Ajay Devgan portraying Tanaji Malusare, the Maratha warrior.
