Apple, the Cupertino based tech giant, is offering a free service programme wherein it will repair its iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus variants which are not turning on. Apple observed that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus manufactured between October 2018 and August 2019 may be facing this issue due to failure of a component.
iPhone 6s and 6s Plus went on sale in September of 2015. Now, to find out if your device is eligible for the free repair, all you need to do it fetch the serial number and enter the details on the support page. You can also walk in to your nearest Apple authorised service centre and check if your device is eligible for the free repair or not.
The company issued a statement saying ‘If you believe your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus was affected by this issue, and you paid to repair your device, you can contact Apple and claim a refund’. This is the sixth repair programme launched by Apple for the year 2019.
It is interesting that Apple admitted of the faulty component on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus but did not give any details as to which component is faulty or if the same component is being used in any of the newer devices.
