WhatsApp to get boomerang live videos, Dark Mode, Snapchat like disappearing messages for both IOS and Android users.
In the recent years, WhatsApp has become a necessity, back in February 2018 it had over 1.5 billion users and with growing numbers the developers have finalised to give it handful of new features, though it keeps receiving minor changes from time to time, this time Facebook owned messaging app is expected to receive major upgrades.
Some of the changes that can be expected are:
Disappearing Messages: Just like Snapchat, you soon will be able to set a time limit to the messages that are being sent, once the time is exhausted your messages will disappear from the chat box. As per WABetaInfo, the feature is still at a nascent stage and there is no ETA available to it.
Multi- Platform Support: Finally, WhatsApp support for Apple’s Ipad, along with ability to use whatsApp on multiple platforms simultaneously. This is one of the features that whole WhatsApp community has been asking Facebook to roll out since a long time.
Dark Mode: Just like Facebook’s Messenger, Google Chrome, and Gmail, WhatsApp will have its own Dark Mode which will reduce eye strains and comfort during night and dark environment. It is expected to arrive in the coming months.
Contact Rankings: Who doesn’t have hundreds of contacts on WhatsApp, but we all know we only talk to a handful of them, with this new feature people will be able to keep their favourite contacts on the top at all times.
WhatsApp Call via Google Assistant: Good news is coming for Android users (and we know it was a lame attempt at quoting GOT), Google Assistant has helped android users and made their life easier, soon enough Android users will be able to place WhatsApp calls via it just like a voice or video call. For this, android users need to update both WhatsApp and Google Assistant.
Hidden Muted Status: As of now, WhatsApp lets its users to mute status updates but they are still visible at the bottom of their feed. In the upcoming updates we will see some tweaks to this feature which will allow users to completely hide said statuses from their feeds. WhatsApp will add a ‘one tap access’ to view these hidden statuses.
Boomerang Videos: WhatsApp is rolling out its own Instagram’s
Boomerang video feature which will allow users to play a video in loops, this
feature will be available in Video Type panel with convert to GIFs feature.
