Anti-CAA Protest: In the recent development in the nationwide protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC), and National Population Register (NPR) things took quite an interesting turn.

In Chennai, a couple got married with placards in their hands of Anti CAA at the Old Washermanpet Area where a protest was being held against the CAA, NRC, and NPR on Monday.

The couple, Sumaiya and Shainsha, got engaged some time back and after that, the date of marriage was also fixed, but little did they know that a protest will break out at their area. The couple, who were also the residents of Old Washermanpet area, Chennai. Fearing that their marriage will be delayed due to the protest which showed no sign of dispersing forced the couple to take a big step.

The duo chose to get married at the protest site itself. The surprising thing is that the hundreds of demonstrators that were present there for the protest cheered for the couple as they got married.
