Within the context of commemorating Independence Day at the Red Fort, roughly 1,800 individuals of varied pursuits, accompanied by their partners, have been extended invitations from all corners of the nation as Honored Guests, as articulated in an official statement.

August 15, 2023, will witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheading the nation’s jubilation of the 77th Independence Day at the iconic Red Fort situated in Delhi. This endeavour has been undertaken consonant with the Government’s vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’.

In accordance with the statement, 75 couples hailing from each State/Union Territory, dressed in their conventional attire, have been summoned to observe the ceremony at the Red Fort.

The group of Distinguished Guests summoned to partake in the festivities at Red Fort encompasses over 400 Sarpanches from a surplus of 660 vibrant villages, 250 from the Farmer Producer Organisations program, 50 participants each from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

50 Shram Yogis (constructors) affiliated with the Central Vista Project, encompassing the New Parliament Building; 50 Khadi workers, individuals taking part in the construction of border thoroughfares, the creation of Amrit Sarovar, the Har Ghar Jal Yojana, and in a similar vein, 50 primary school educators, healthcare professionals, and anglers, all have received invitations.

Some of these Notable Guests are scheduled for an excursion to the National War Memorial, coupled with an audience with Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt, as segments of their sojourn in Delhi. 

This Independence Day will culminate the festivities of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, an inauguration carried out by the Premier from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on March 12, 2021, ultimately reigniting the country’s vigour for the ‘Amrit Kaal’ as a prelude to manifesting Narendra Modi’s aspiration of metamorphosing India into a developed nation by 2047.

A constellation of unprecedented initiatives has been launched to commemorate the 77th Independence Day. A substantial number of invitees has been extended compared to the preceding year.

“Selfie Stations” allocated to distinct programs and undertakings of the administration have been positioned at 12 locales, encompassing National War Memorial, India Gate, Vijay Chowk, New Delhi Railway Station, Pragati Maidan, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid Metro Station, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Delhi Gate Metro Station, ITO Metro Gate, Naubat Khana, and Sheesh Ganj Gurudwara.

The programs/undertakings encompass Global Hope: Vaccine & Yoga; Ujjwala Yojana; Space Power; Digital India; Skill India; Start-up India; Swachh Bharat; Sashakt Bharat, Naya Bharat; Powering India; Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission.

As a constituent of the festivities, the Ministry of Defence will orchestrate an online “selfie” competition on the MyGov platform from August 15 to 20. Individuals are enjoined to capture self-portraits at one or more of the 12 installations and upload them on the MyGov platform to partake in the competition.

A dozen victors, one at each installation, will be chosen based on the online “selfie” competition. Said winners shall each be awarded a prize sum of ₹10,000. (ANI)”
