The owner of recent fame finding Baba Ka Dhaba, Kanta Prasad, has filed a formal police complaint the very YouTuber who shot the very first video of the elderly couple selling food in Delhi. The YouTuber who goes by the name of Gaurav Wasan has been alleged by the owner of misappropriating funds which were raised to help him and his wife.
The YouTuber has also been alleged of cheating, mischief, criminal breach of trust, and a criminal conspiracy by Gaurav Wasan. Gaurav Wasan had shot the video of the elderly couple on the 7th of October and shared it on his YouTube channel. The video soon went viral and many people came out in support of the Dhaba and the elderly couple.
In the video, Kanta Prasad revealed how the nationwide lockdown had severely impacted their earning because of the lack of customers at the eatery in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. Following this video, a lot many people donated money to help them.
The owner of the Dhaba, Prasad, told Indian Express, “I don’t get a lot of customers now; most people come here to take selfies… Earlier I was earning over Rs 10,000 per day, now it’s Rs 3,000-Rs 5,000.”
He further claimed that YouTuber Gaurav Wasan “intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected a huge amount of donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant.”
The police have also confirmed that they have received a complaint about the same.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) (DCP), Atul Kumar Thakur said, “We received the complaint yesterday at the Malviya Nagar Police Station and the matter is being probed. No FIR has been registered yet in the case,”
However, Wasan has come forward and denied all the allegations put on him and claimed that he transferred all the money into the bank account of the owner of Baba Ka Dhaba.
Talking to Indian Express, Wasan had said, “When I shot the video, I didn’t know it would become this big. I didn’t want people to harass Baba (Prasad) so I shared my bank details…”
Reacting to the police complaint file by the owner of Baba Ka Dhaba, many people reacted on Twitter and the netizens have been expressing their support for the owner of Baba Ka Dhaba for filing the police complaint against the people who cheated him.
