Earlier, Tahir Hussain claimed that he has been a victim of a witch hunt, saying that he is innocent and is a riot victim himself. Tahir Hussain said, “My family and I ran away from rioters and the police were also informed about it. On February 24, I left with my family in the presence of police. The police took possession of the building,” as quoted by the news agency.
Talking about the killing of Ankit Sharma, the IB Officer, Tahir Hussain said that the loss of Ankit Sharma’s life is “sad”. He, however, hopes that the truth will come out after an impartial investigation will be carried out on his case.

Ankit’s family and neighbours have openly spoken on TV that people from Tahir Hussain’s house came running and hauled and dragged Ankit away from them.
Ankit’s father, Ravinder Sharma, filed a complaint following which an FIR was registered against Tahir Hussain.Tahir Hussain, however, has dismissed all the allegations and said that he had no involvement in the killing of Ankit Sharma. Hussain said, “These are lies and baseless accusations. For our safety, my family and I had moved away from our home in police presence.”
