Highlights:
- Netflix Mobile’s monthly subscription fee has been reduced from Rs. 199 to Rs. 149.

Netflix, the world’s largest streaming platform, has reduced its subscriptions price in India. The company has announced revised plans in the country that start at Rs 149 per month, down from Rs 199 per month previously. The new pricing would apply to all consumers and are most likely an effort by the company to get more subscribers in the country, since it is the costliest streaming service for Indian viewers. The American behemoth has opted to put its plans more in line with other streaming services accessible in the country with the revised plans.
With the new prices, the Rs 199 mobile plan is now Rs 149 per month. Also, the Rs 499 Basic plan has been reduced to Rs 199, a major price drop. The Rs 649 per month plan (Standard) will now cost Rs 499, while the Rs 799 plan (Premium) will now cost Rs 649. This is a huge price cut, and it makes Netflix’s rates considerably more competitive in the country when compared to rival streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and others.
