Lotus Media Entertainment has announced that actor Kamal Haasan has collaborated with Fantico, a licenced digital collectables marketplace, to launch his digital avatars exclusively. The actor’s non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will make their debut in the metaverse, where Fantico will start a game based on him.
Haasan’s avatar will be available in the Metaverse, a network of virtual communities where people can communicate with each other in the form of their own digital avatars. In the metaverse, digital items and virtual avatars interact for business, entertainment and education.
This will allow his fans all across the world to interact with him through his digital avatar. According to the company, they could also buy memorabilia and souvenirs relating to the actor.

According to the platform, it will initially issue a list of NFTs that will bring his fans closer to him. “Kamal Haasan has been a pioneer in experimenting with both his looks and his genres of films and relied heavily on technology for them. It is only natural that he makes his presence felt in the virtual world which is expected to be the future of entertainment,” Fantico stated in a statement.
“I am excited to explore the emerging intersection of the digital and physical world which is now becoming popularly known as metaverse,” stated Kamal Haasan. “My life’s journey of over six decades has blurred the distinction between my personal and professional life and will be my offering for this metaverse.”
“This will be the first of its kind in India,” said Abhayanand Singh, founder of Fantico. “The presence of a legend like Kamal Haasan on our platform will only set a trend for other creators to adapt to the future of fan engagement.”
Bollywood celebs such as Amitabh Bachchan were among the first to release their NFTs in India during the worldwide craze that began in 2015.
