On Friday, the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo did not hold back while he attacked the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), for not just displaying the “rogue” attitude towards its neighbours, especially the recent escalation on the border it shares with India, but also for “pushing disinformation and malicious cyber campaigns so as to drive a wedge between the US and Europe.”
During an online conference in Copenhagen, Denmark on Democracy, Pompeo said, It’s the Chinese Communist Party that’s forcing the choice,”.
Launching attack on the Chinese Government, Pompeo said, “I think all across the world it’s becoming more apparent each and every day. Chinese Communist Party decreed an end to freedom in Hong Kong, violating UN-registered treaty and rights of its citizens-one of many international treaties that the Chinese Communist Party has violated,”.
He added, “But Chinese Communist Party isn’t just a rogue actor in its own neighbourhood. If it was, we might think differently about it. It impacts us all. It lied about coronavirus and then let it spread to rest of the world while pressuring WHO to assist in a coverup campaign,”.

Earlier this week, Pompeo met a senior official from China in Hawaii where he held talks behind closed doors ar a time when the relations between the US and China have taken a nosedive over several disputes, Pompeo said “Europe faces a China challenge” as does the rest of the world.
Mark Pompeo further added that the Chinese Communist Party wants to undo all the progress that the free world has made through institutions such as NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and adopt a new set of rules and norms which would accommodate Beijing and its growth.
Pompeo said, “The PLA (People’s Liberation Army) has escalated border tensions with India, the world’s most populous democracy. It’s militarizing the South China Sea and illegally claiming more territory there, threatening vital sea lanes,” one day after he expressed deep condolences to India on the death of 20 soldiers including a Commanding Officer of the Indian Army in the violent face-off with the Chinese troops at the Galwan Valley in Ladhak.
The senior US diplomat said that since many years, the West, in an era of hope, has believed that they could change the Chinese Communist Party, and improve the lives of Chinese people along the path.

Over the decades, both American and European companies have invested hugely in China with optimism. They outsourced supply chains to places like Shenzhen and even opened education institutions for PLA-affiliated students and welcomes the Chinese state-backed investments in their own countries, said Pompeo.
However, the CCP has decreed an end to the freedom in Hong Kong, and violated an UN-registered treaty along with the rights of the citizens. This is just one of the many international treaties that the political party has violated, said the US Secretary of State.
Mike Pompeo added, “General Secretary Xi Jinping has greenlighted a brutal campaign of repression against Chinese Muslims, a human rights violation on a scale we haven’t seen since World War II. Now, the PLA has escalated border tensions with India,”.
The Chinese soldiers, in the violent face-off with the Indian soldiers, used stones, nail-studded sticks, and iron rods and clubs after they protested the erection of a surveillance post on the Indian side of the Actual Line of Control in Galwan Valley in Ladhak.
Pompeo said that China even lied about the COVID-19 and let it spread to the rest of the world while asserting pressure over the World Health Organisation to assist it in its cover-up campaign. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives to the deadly virus and the global economy has been destroyed.
