After the influx of $ 75 million Series C Funding, BharatPe has on-boarded 11 Indian national level cricketers to star in the company’s marketing campaigns.

The fintech platform, BharatPe, has signed Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, K L Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson, Prithvi Shaw, and Shubhman Gill as its brand ambassadors.

In 2019, BharatPe, the Delhi based platform, brought-in Salman Khan as its brand ambassador and advertised across platforms. As a result, the company said that the campaigns yielded 30X growth in the business.

BharatPe’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ashneer Grover said, “We are proud to associate with the 11 Indian Cricket team players as our ambassadors. BharatPe is much more than a solitary UPI QR (Unified Payments Interface Quick Response); it is, in fact, a team that provides for all financial needs of the small merchant”. He added by saying that “BharatPe Team of players will help disseminate all our propositions such as QR payments, investments, lending and cards to the merchants and help us engage deeper with our core TG,”.

Grover says that the company chose not to sponsor a team, instead create its own. The company claims that it has over 30 lakh merchants in 30 different cities in the country and aims to double that number by March 2021.

Grover said that “In a year full of cricket across formats, we will always have our ambassadors playing on the ground in one format or the other. More importantly, it will help us cater to our merchant’s affinity by offering QR code featuring his favorite cricket player at his shop and an opportunity to meet the players in person. And we will achieve all this at a fraction of investment by any brand investing in cricket this year,”.
