Arvind Kejriwal Goes In Self-Quarantine After Seeing COVID-19 Symptoms

Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, has imposed a self quarantine on himself after he developed COVID-19 symptoms of mild fever and a sore throat. He will take the test of the novel Coronavirus on Tuesday, said the Aam Aadmi Party, today.

Following the self-isolation, the Chief Minister has cancelled all his meetings.

Krjriwal who is 51 years old has been unwell since Sunday afternoon and has not met anyone since then. He has, since then, self-isolated at his official home in Delhi.

Raghav Chadha, MLA from AAP said, “He is running a fever and has a sore throat, which happen to be COVID symptoms. So doctors have advised him to take a test tomorrow,” and described Kejriwal as a frontline COVID-19 warrior who had put himself at risk in Delhi’s virus fight.

Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal is a diabetic which is a thing of worry said, Raghav Chadha. He added, “We are all worried, but Mr Kejriwal is a fighter. He hasn’t slept very well either,”.

Raghav Chadha added, “The symptoms started showing since yesterday afternoon. He hasn’t interacted with anyone since then. There were largely meetings over the last few days over video. But he did come in direct contact with members of the party, cabinet, bureaucrats,”

Many people including several AAP leaders have tweeted for Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP MLA Jarnail Singh tweeted, “Respected Chief Minister of Arvind Kejriwal has a mild fever and sore throat since yesterday, after consulting with a doctor he has isolated himself at his residence. He will get himself tested for COVID-19 at 9 am tomorrow. We all pray from his good health” he wrote in Hindi.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed a brief digital press conference at noon announcing a new policy wherein hospital beds will be reserved for the residents of Delhi only. He was wearing a mask during the conference.

Amidst the rising complaints from the COVID-19 patients in the national capital or being denied a hospital bed, Arvind Kejriwal declared that the hospitals which are run by the Government of Delhi along with some private hospitals will be reserved for the residents of Delhi only.

He also said that Delhi might reopen its borders which were closed in the first place “thinking that our hospitals will be flooded with people from other states”. Delhi has seen a huge spike in the cases of COVID-19 with more than 1,000 cases have been reported in the national capital from the past few days. As of today, more than 27,600 cases have been reported for the novel Coronavirus in the capital.
