Highlights:

  • ‘Pushpa The Rise’ starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandana is all set to hit the box office culminating with plausibly Rs 100 crore by the first weekend.
  • Star trio of the Telugu industry, Allu Arjun, Sukukumar and Devi Sri Prasad can be seen working together for the movie after a gap of over 10 years.
  •  How the movie will fare in Northern region of India amid Spiderman: No Way Home release is uncertain.

The film ‘Pushpa The Rise’ starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandana is anticipated to drive people back to the theatres ahead of the end of the second lockdown. The movie also casts Fahadh Faasil, an Indian actor and producer who primarily dominates Malayalam and Tamil movies.

The movie reunites South Indian heartthrob, Allu Arjun, Telugu cinema director, producer and screenwriter, Sukukumar and music composer Devi Sri Prasad – the hit trio of Telugu cinema after more than 10 years.

The filmmakers said that the movie will be released in different languages to adhere to the new norm of pan-India release. The shooting of the movie was carried out during the pandemic. However, the filmmakers were not left with sufficient time to have a huge launch leading to the expansion of its earning prospects or going ahead with a countrywide promotion.

Tedious amounts of work were put in by Devi Sri Prasad, Sukukumar, editor Ruben, sound designer Resul Pookutty to ascertain the film releases on the 17th of December. Promotions were implausible owing to the fatiguing last-minute preparations. The lead cast along with the crew was also caught up with dubbing work till December 10th.

Protagonists of the movie were entrusted with the responsibility of generating awareness about the film and of driving excitement around the film, among the crowd outside of the Telugu states.

The star-duo visited Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru and Mumbai interacting with fans, attended interviews and attempted to make as many headlines as possible. All said and done, the hasty promotion of the duo might not help the movie make a noteworthy impression where Marvel’s Spiderman: No Way Home is presumed to slay the box office. Chances are that when people have Spiderman, they will be reluctant to opt for any other movie.

How the film’s Hindi version would fare in the northern region is solely dependent upon the sort of reviews it generates in the upcoming days.

On the contrary, the market in the southern region looks different for the movie. Allu Arjun is a popular face across South Indian states, and he enjoys a preeminent fan following in Kerela, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The star’s well-deserved goodwill is likely to translate into a powerful box office collection in the aforementioned states.
