The highly anticipated movie Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, is almost ready to be released. In recent times, nevertheless, the movie has been trending as trolls demand a “boycott” of the movie. In a news conference on Tuesday, Aamir Khan responded to the controversy. ANI news agency cited him as saying, “If I have hurt anyone by any means, I regret it. I don’t want to hurt anyone. If someone doesn’t want to watch the film, I’d respect their sentiment.” Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, is an official remake of the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump. Aamir plays the titular role and Kareena Kapoor, his love interest.

Advait Chandan, the film’s director, previously responded to critics who had asserted that trolls were “paid” to draw attention to the movie. In an Instagram story, his funny response was as follows: “I am told there are people being paid to troll Aamir Sir. This deeply upsetting to hear and it’s outright unfair. Why have I been trolling him for free?” and added the hashtag #PayEveryTroll.
Aamir Khan’s 2015 interview, in which he claimed that his then-wife Kiran Rao suggested they leave India due to “growing intolerance,” sparked calls for boycott a while back.
On August 11, Laal Singh Chaddha will be released. It has been in the works for almost 15 years and also features Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The movie was co-produced by Viacom18 Studios and Aamir Khan’s Aamir Khan Productions.
