Coronavirus Update: UK Prime Minister Tests Positive For The Deadly Virus

Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the UK (United Kingdom) has been tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

After he experienced mild symptoms on Thursday, he was tested for the novel Coronavirus on the personal advice of Professor Chris Whitty who is the Chief Medical Officer of England.

Downing St. says that the UK Prime Minister went under self isolation and continued to lead the war against COVID-19 that the country has waged. As on now, more than 11,600 people have been infected by this deadly virus. Also, COVID-19 has already claimed close to 600 lives in the UK. UK is the 9th Country in the world to have reported over 10,000 cases of COVID-19 infections.

Additionally, the US now have more Coronavirus positive cases than any other country in the world, including China, the country which is siad to be the originating place of COVID-19. In the US more than 83.5 thousand cases have been reported out of which more than 1,200 people have lost their lives to this virus.

Earlier, the Health Minister of UK, Nadine Dorries was tested positive of the novel Coronavirus.

In a tweet, Johnson said, “Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus”.

Earlier this week, first from the Royal Family of England, Prince Charles, was diagnosed from the Novel Coronavirus, he too, is working from isolation.
