At least 4 people lost their lives today on the US Capitol grounds and at least 52 people have been arrested as of now after the supporters of President Donald Trump breached the US Capitol Building in Washington DC with the motive to stop the US Congress from ratifying the Electoral College vote which will officially confirm President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over Donald Trump.
Supporters of Donald Trump were carrying unlicensed and/ or prohibited firearms and caused havoc which resulted in riots and violence at the Capitol building, the building which houses the US Congress and is the seat of the legislative branch of the US government.
Despite officers being present in full riot gear and the implementation of curfew orders by the Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser, dozens of Trump supporters were violating the norms.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the United States of America, Mike Pence, has reconvened the US Congress to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College win when the Capitol building was cleared of the Trump Supporters.
