75th Independence Day: Delhi Metro Services, Timings To Parking Details

On the 75th Independence Day of India, the Delhi metro will run as usual across the entire network, as per the circular issued by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). On the 15th of August, all of the Metro stations will remain open, so in case if you want to travel, you will face no difficulty in commuting.

However, there will be more security seen at the metro stations than usual days on 15th August.

The DMRC has announced that as part of heightened security, all of the parking facilities will be shut down with effect from 14th August morning till 15 August afternoon.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said, “Parking facilities will not be available at the Delhi Metro stations from 6:00 AM on Saturday i.e, 14th August 2021 till 2:00 PM on Sunday i.e, 15th August 2021 in view of the security measures adopted on the occasion of Independence Day.

It added, “However, the Metro train services will continue to run”.

In the meantime, as per the report from ANI, even the Delhi Police Department has made massive security arrangements in the national capital, especially at the Red Fort, from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation, said Joint Commissioner of Traffic Police Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday.

The Delhi Traffic Police Department said that many roads will remain closed on the 15th August between 4:00 AM am 10:00 AM

The roads that will remain closed include:

  1. Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail Chowk
  2. Lothian Road from GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail Chowk
  3. S.P.Mukherjee Marg from H.C.Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk
  4. Chandni Chowk Road from Fountain Chowk to Red Fort
  5. Nishad Raj Marg from Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Marg
  6. Esplanade Road and its Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg
  7. Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT
  8. Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover i.e. Salimgarh Bypass
