Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor died at the age of 67 just one day after another Bollywood’s great actor Irrfan Khan died in Mumbai and drew deep condolences from people from the film fraternity and leaders.
Actor Amitabh Bachchan who co-starred in many movies with him including 102 Not Out and Amar Akbar Anthony was amongst the first ones to have tweeted on his demise and wrote, “ “He’s GONE…. ! Rishi Kapoor… gone… just passed away.. I am destroyed!”

The 67 year old Booby star had been fighting cancer and was taken to the H N Reliance Hospital in Mumbai by his family on Wednesday. A leading news agency in India quotes Rishi Kapoor’s brother Randhir Kapoor who broke the news of him passing away saying “He is no more. He has passed away,”.
Several leaders and stars from across India tweeted to pay their respect to the veteran star.
Akshay Kumar wrote, “It seems like we’re in the midst of a nightmare…just heard the depressing news of Rishi Kapoor ji passing away, it’s heartbreaking. He was a legend, a great co-star and a good friend of the family. My thoughts and prayers with his family”.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi wrote, “This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, with the passing of another legend, actor Rishi Kapoor. A wonderful actor, with a huge fan following across generations, he will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family, friends & fans all over the world, at this time of grief.”

Rishi Kapoor returned to India in September 2019 after he underwent treatment in the United States for cancer for almost a year. In February this year he was hospitalised twice.
