Boy bands BTS and SEVENTEEN have won significant awards at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, which were being held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. At this year’s ceremony, Septet BTS (RM, SUGA, Jin, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook) took the award for “Group of the Year.” BTS has won the award four times in a row, having previously won it for “Best Group” in 2019 and 2020 as well as “Group of the Year” when it was renamed last year. BTS is the group with the most wins in this category as well.

BTS has been active in promoting their anthology album “Proof,” which released in June 2022, as well as the group’s singles “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” over the past year. Through their “PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE” tour, which ended in April 2022, the septet also got to meet their fans.

For their song “Rock With You,” the boy band SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Hoshi, The8, Wonwoo, Woozi, Joshua, Jun, DK, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) wins the award for “PUSH Performance of the Year.” The song serves as the album’s title track for SEVENTEEN’s 9th mini album, “Attacca.”

S.Coups, Mingyu, Jeonghan, Seungkwan, and Vernon of SEVENTEEN thanked the MTV VMAs and their fans for the honour while accepting the award in a video. Here is a video of their speech:

The 13-piece act’s third world tour, “BE THE SUN,” is currently taking place in the United States. Seungkwan, a member of SEVENTEEN, made the announcement of their MTV VMA victory yesterday during their show, receiving love from the group’s fans in attendance.
