The Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, today visited a key forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Keran sector.

Rajnath Sign was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and the Army Chief General M M Narawane and visited the North Hill post and was acquainted about the situation at the border by the senior officials.

Singh tweeted the photographs of his interactions with the soldier on Twitter and wrote, “Visited a forward post near LoC in Kupwara District of Jammu-Kashmir today and interacted with the soldiers deployed there.

We are extremely proud of these brave and courageous soldiers who are defending our country in every situation.”

Earlier today, Rajnath Singh also visited the holy cave of Amarnath in Jammu and Kashmir and offered his prayers.

His trip to the cave shrine came on the second day of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

Yesterday, 17th July 2020, Rajnath Singh reviewed the overall security arrangement in Jammu and Kashmir with the top military officials.

He has asked the armed forces to give a fitting reply to any “misadventure” by Pakistan.

A report said, “At a high-level meeting, the defence minister had also asked the armed forces to maintain a strict vigil along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan.”
