Faridabad Murder Case: A 21-year-old student in Ballabgarh, Faridabad, Haryana was shot dead in broad daylight just outside her college by a man who could be seen trying to shove the girl inside his car. The woman’s murder on the streets, less than 30 km from Delhi, has been caught in a frightening video which shows her attempts to save herself before being shot at point-blank range by the attacker.
The incident took place at around 3:40 PM on Monday outside a college in Ballabgarh, Faridabad, where the woman, Nikita Tomar, had gone to take her exam. She was a final year commerce student.
The attacker who has been identified as Touseef, along with his friend Rehan, were apparently waiting in a car for her to come outside the college premise.
O P Singh, Police Officer in Faridabad Police Department said, Touseef and Nikita both knew each other and back in the year 2018 Touseef had kidnapped Nikita.
In the security video, Nikita along and her friend can be seen near a white hatchback car which appears to be a Hyundai i20, desperately trying to dodge the gun-waving attacker.
In the video, it could be seen that the man keeps chasing her before finally shooting her in the head. His friend then drags him to the car and they drive off, leaving Nikita bleeding on the road, her friend could not do anything but stand there in horror.
Nikita died in hospital.
Both Touseef and Rehan were arrested as per the Faridabad Police Department.
According to the police, Nikita’s father had complained against the accused in 2018 but later withdrew it.
The father told, “We complained earlier in 2018 about Touseef harassing my daughter and we had withdrawn the complaint to protect our daughter’s name. Now they have killed my daughter,” the leading news agency of India, NDTV.
The father added, “My daughter went for an examination at the college. He tried to forcibly make her sit in his car but she refused. After a brief scuffle, he shot her.”
The victim’s mother said, “I want justice for my daughter. They should be shot the same way they shot her.”
The National Commission for Women, also known as NCW, has taken note of this horrific incident from the video which has been circulating online and has written to the Haryana police chief to catch the other accused.
