You remember the scene from movie Run where Vijay Raaz eats a Rs. 5 chicken biryani and our very own Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi from Mirzapur) tells him that what he ate was indeed kauaa biryani.

Well, something similar happened in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, where on the 30th January 2020, 2 people were arrested for not just killing crows but selling their meat to the chicken eateries said the Forest Officials. They said that close to 150 crows have been seized from the 2 people.

The incident that brought this sham to light is shocking enough. The local authorities said that devotees at a temple in the vicinity noticed that the birds were dying when they were feeding off of the rice offered by the devotees. It was found that the rice was laced with liquor.

Following the incident, the police have started a large scale investigation of all the roadside eateries in the vicinity to see how deeply this sham has infiltrated. According to the reports, the 2 men were selling the crow meat as a cheap alternative to the roadside eateries which are now being tracked down.

The police are saying that the roadside eateries mix this crow meat with chicken in the food so that people eating do not become skeptic.

This is not the first time something like this happened. In 2016, in Chennai, animal right activist along with Chennai police busted roadside eateries which were kidnapping pet cats in the area and then using their meat in mutton biryani. This was majorly sold in the eateries placed near the liquor bars and liquor stores. Similarly, in 2018, again in Chennai, the Food Safety Department discovered over 1 ton of rotting meat on a train which came from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The eye-witnesses even saw long tails on the carcasses. However, this particular case remains an unsolved mystery.
