Citizens who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 can now acquire their vaccination certificate via WhatsApp in seconds, according to the office of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Currently, people can log onto the CoWIN portal to obtain their vaccination certificate.

On Sunday, the office of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted informing about the new update, “Revolutionizing common man’s life using technology! Now get #COVID19 vaccination certificate through MyGov Corona Helpdesk in 3 easy steps. Save contact number: 91 9013151515 Type & send ‘covid certificate’ on WhatsApp Enter OTP Get your certificate in seconds.”

How to get a Covid vaccination certificate via WhatsApp:

Save the phone number: +91 9013151515

Type the message ‘covid certificate’ on WhatsApp and send it to the number above

Enter OTP; and

Download the vaccination certificate

Shashi Tharoor, a senior Congress leader who has been criticising government’s Covid handling, complimented it for deciding to send vaccination certificates over WhatsApp.

“I’ve always acknowledged and praised the government when it merits it. As a critic of Cowin, let me say they’ve done something terrific, Tharoor tweeted. “Send a WhatsApp message ‘download certificate’ to 9013151515, receive OTP and get your vaccination certificate back by WhatsApp. Simple and fast!”

At 7 a.m., a provisional report was released. On Sunday, the country has received 50,68,10,492 Covid vaccine doses over 58,51,292 sessions, with 55,91,657 doses administered every day.

Earlier, the coronavirus immunisation certificate could be obtained via Co-WIN Website or the Arogya Setu/Umang Mobile App. After the first dose, a provisional certificate is issued, and a final certificate is issued after the second dose.
