With less than 2 weeks left for the historic event of Bhumi Pujan of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya on the 5th of August, a Congress supporter named Saket Gokhale, has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on the Bhumi Pujan claiming it is a clear “violation of the coronavirus guidelines”.

The petition which has been filed is claiming that the Bhumi Pujan at Ayodhya for the Ram Temple is a clear violation of the guidelines put forward in “Unlock 2.0” by the Central Government and demands the court to put a stay on the event in the interest of public health during a pandemic.

In the petition, Saket Gokhale claims that the government of Uttar Pradesh cannot allow the event to take place following the guidelines issued by the Centre. On Twitter, Gokhale said “I’ve filed a Letter PIL with the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on the Ram Mandir event in Ayodhya in view of the Unlock 2.0 guidelines & in the interest of public health during a pandemic,”.

The Congress leader has also filed an RTI with the Ministry of Home Affairs asking if any exemption of the Bhumi Pujan was given and on what grounds?

Saket Gokhale has been continuously seen spreading misinformation and misrepresentation over social media platforms while casting accusations on the in-power Modi government.

The Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan event to be held on August 5, 150 to attend

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi will also visit Ayodhya for the Bhumi Pujan on Shri Ram Mandir on the 5th of August. The Bhumi Pujan ceremony will also be attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath along with several other personalities.

It is being said that the former Prime Minister L K Advani, who was a key person in shaping the Ram Mandir movement, is also likely to attend the Bhumi Pujan ceremony along with the current Prime Minister of India.

The Ram Janambhoomi Tirth Kshetra – the trust which has been established and tasked with the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya –has invited 150 guests which includes the leader of Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray, BJP veterans Murli Manohar Joshi, Union Homes Minister Amit Shah.

The trust said all the norms, including social distancing, will be followed.

The trust has submitted an estimate time which it will take to complete the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Trust said it will complete the construction in 3 years, i.e. by 2023.
