Babri Masjid Demolition Case: All 32 Accused Acquitted, Here Is L K Advani’s Statement

All 32 people accused in the 28 year old Babri Masjid Demolition case have been acquitted by the Special CBI Court in Lucknow on 30th September 2020. The Babri Masjid stood at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya.

The Special Judge S K Yadav said that the demolition of the mosque was “not pre-planned,” today and added that the leaders who were accused including the founding members of the Bhartiya Janata Party L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi tried to stop the demolition which was done by the “unlawful elements”.

6 of the 32 accused in this case were not physically present in the court and only joined via video conferencing. The 3 of those 6 people were L K Advani, M M Joshi, and Uma Bharti.

After the verdict from the Special CBI Court, today, L K Advani, 92, issued a statement saying, “I also feel blessed that this judgment has come in the footsteps of another landmark verdict of the Supreme Court given in November 2019, which paved the way for my long cherished dream of seeing a grand Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the foundation-laying ceremony of which was held on August 5,”.

L K Advani also issued a video message on the verdict passed by the Special Court on Babri Masjid Demolition case.

Shortly after the verdict came out of acquitting all 32 accused in the Babri Masjid Demolition case, sweets were distributed at the home of BJP’s founding member M M Joshi.

Sushil Kumar Modi tweeted, “I was witness to the entire incident of 6th Dec.  It was all spontaneous no conspiracy.I  was conducting the meeting from dais I was surprised when some Kar Sewaks climbed Babri str. Advaniji was unhappy.सत्यमेव जयते ।#BabriDemolitionCase”

Before the vedict, the security in the area around the court was tightened and a separate area for the news reporters was made.
