Milap Zaveri directed movie is doing above than average in UP and Bihar with collecting Rs. 40 lakh on day one from Bihar. Despite making less money from Delhi and Noida, Marjaavaan made Rs. 1.80 crores from Delhi- UP circuit.
Additionally, the film is also doing well in other areas, collecting Rs. 45 lakh on day 1 from both Central India and the Nizam region.
The other releases did not have such a good opening, Hollywood movies Ford vs Ferrari and the Cahrlie’s Angles both just collected Rs. 75-80 and Rs. 50-55 lkhs respectively. Nawazuddin and Athiya Shetty starrer movie Motichoor Chaknachoor did even worse, with just Rs. 30 lakhs collected on Friday.
On the other hand, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala is doing well by the end of Week 2. The movie has already earned Rs. 90 crores and according to Taran Adarsh, will cross 100 crore mark by week 3.
If Bala touches Rs. 100 crore mark, it will be third film for both Ayushmann and Yami which have crossed this milestone. For Bhumi Pednekar, it’ll be her second 100 crore + movie.
According to Box Office India, Bala may not be able to catch up with the likes of Dream Girl (Rs. 139 crore+) or Badhaai Ho (Rs. 134 crores +) but most probably will hover around the collections made by Raazi and Stree of Rs. 122 crores and Rs. 124 crores respectively.
Yami Gautam’s earlier 100 crore movies were Uri- The Surgical Strike and Kaabil which made Rs. 245 crores and Rs. 103 crores respectively.
Talking about Bhumi Pednekar, the only movie to her name which has crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark is Toilet- Ek Prem Katha which grossed over Rs. 130 crores.
