AMC Networks and Universal Pictures have given fans a preview of the highly anticipated Halloween Ends, the latest instalment in the film franchise during The Walking Dead: The Final Episodes Preview, a live special that anticipates the last eight episodes of the series, which airs on 2nd October.
The franchise’s undisputed central character Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Laurie Strode, made an appearance in a video clip to tease viewers about the most recent encounter between her vengeful foe Michael Myers after 44 years (James Jude Courtney). The movie will release on October 14 in theatres.
Regarding Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, and Christian Serratos’ portrayals of the The Walking Dead’s female leads, Curtis said, “Over the years we’ve been rooting for our favorite horror heroines as they faced insurmountable challenges in a ruthless world. But through their great courage, intelligence and inner strength they showed us what it really means to be a survivor.”

Curtis, who initially portrayed the stalked babysitter in John Carpenter’s 1978 original Halloween, said Laurie Strode is all about “true survival, self-reliance, and resilience.” Halloween Ends has the “legendary Laurie Strode” making her final effort after a 40-year rematch in Halloween 2018 and another Myers killing spree in Halloween Kills from 2021.
“A Scream Queen isn’t a damsel in distress. She’s someone who’s quick-thinking, strong-willed, and able to adapt to any threat to her or her family,” Curtis stated. “So, whenever an iconic franchise comes to the end, you know it’s going to go out with a bang.” Curtis then urged viewers to watch Halloween Ends, which releases in theatres and is available to stream on Peacock on October 14, to “check out the thrilling conclusion to Laurie Strode’s story and see her final showdown with Michael Myers.”
Halloween Ends is described by Universal as follows: “After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before. Only one of them will survive.”
“Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell; The Hardy Boys, Virgin River), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.”
On Sunday, October 2, The Walking Dead: The Last Episodes will begin on AMC and AMC+. On October 14, Halloween Ends will be shown in theatres and streaming at Peacock.
