Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor on Monday, fulfilling the PM’s long-held dream of creating an easily accessible corridor connecting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to the Ganga River’s banks.
The project is spread across a staggering 5 lakh square feet and includes the repair and beautification of over 40 old temples. To provide a variety of amenities for the devotees, up to 23 additional structures were built.

On Monday, December 13, around 3,000 seers, artists, and other famous personalities have gathered at the location to witness the inauguration.
A crew of more than 100 individuals, including 55 cameramen, senior officials, and other personnel, is currently camped out in Varanasi to “showcase tomorrow, ‘Divya Kashi, Bhavya Kashi,’ to the public.”

The newly constructed Kashi Corridor will be ornamented with Amla, Rudraksh, Parijat, Bael, and Ashok trees to propagate the message of environmental conservation. Efforts have been undertaken to grow trees across the temple grounds and mandir chowk.
From Monday, the chief ministers of 12 BJP-ruled states will gather in Varanasi for a two-day conclave in which 9 deputy chief ministers of the party will also attend to discuss a wide range of issues concerning good governance.
Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Goa, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, and Uttarakhand’s chief ministers will be present.
Diverse structures for various religious activities and facilities have been built. In Vishwanath Dham, three passenger facilitation centres have been established. Lockers, ticket desks, and stores selling puja goods will also be accessible for worshipers.
The Varanasi district administration intends to deliver laddoos to 8 lakh houses in the city on this occasion. The preparations for the distribution of approximately 28 to 30 lakh laddoos have already started. Each box would include two to four laddoos, depending on the size. Along with the sweets, a leaflet explaining the spiritual importance of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of India’s 12 ‘Jyotirlingas’ (Shiva Temples), will be distributed.
Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party, said that the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project was sanctioned during his tenure and that there was documentation to support it. He said that the BJP government had planned a slew of programmes to welcome the corridor’s opening in order to divert attention away from the failure to double farmers’ income.
In reaction to Akhilesh’s accusations, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the Kashi corridor could not have been created under any other government.
