In five poll-bound states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s app has started a survey collecting people’s opinions and feedback on a series of subjects that are likely to affect their choice of party or candidates.
The survey, which is open to residents of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, and Punjab, asks for feedback on the voter’s most pressing concern, the state government’s performance on a number of metrics, their thoughts on any potential opposition unity in their constituency, and their thoughts on the local MLA, among other things.
After his government invalidated 500 and 1,000 bills and prior to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Prime Minister conducted similar polls on the NaMo app on demonetisation. He is recognized for the significance he places on the usage of digital platforms to elicit people’s input.

The government’s management of COVID-19, price rises, corruption, jobs, education, and law and order situation are among the options provided to citizens in response to a question inquiring about their most important considerations for voting in the assembly polls.
In response to the question “which of these is a bigger factor for you while voting?” it provides “PM Modi’s leadership in the country”,”state level concerns” and “local issues” as choices.
“The poll allows a person to directly provide feedback to the Prime Minister on a wide range of subjects,” an official source told the Press Trust of India news agency.
The poll asks participants to write about the state government programme that has benefited them the most, as well as their opinions on a range of topics, such as whether same-party governments at the central and state help in development.
With the COVID-19 immunisation campaign underway around the country, it seeks voters’ view about its coverage in their state.
It also asks people to pick three of their state’s most popular BJP politicians.
One question asks to choose between a candidate’s caste, religion, and development record and asks people which of these is their most essential factors when voting.
Early next year, assembly elections will be held in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Goa. In four of these five states, the BJP is in power.
