Highlights:
- The Centre will send over 10 lakh doses of COVID vaccines to states in UTs in 3 days to come

The Narendra Modi-led central government has promised that it will provide the States and the Union Territories (UTs) with more than 10 lakh COVID-19 Vaccines in the next 3 days.
As per the official release, the Union ministry of health said that it will be providing a total of 10,25,000 COVID vaccines jabs to the states and the UTs and they will receive it within the next 3 days to come.
More than 90 lakh (90,30,670) COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the states and the Union Territories which are yet to be administered to the population. States which are showing a negative balance are showing more consumption (including wastage) than vaccine supplied as they have not reconciled the vaccine they have supplied to armed forces, as per the ministry release.

In total the Central Government has provided more than 17.35 crore vaccine doses (17,35,07,770) to the states as well as the Union Territories free of cost. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 16,44,77,100 doses as per data available at 8 am on Friday, stated the release.
On the 19th of April the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, announced a “liberalised” policy to include all above the age of 18 years to administer COVID vaccines in the third phase of the vaccination drive, which commenced on the 1st of May.
All the potential beneficiaries are required to either register themselves through CoWIN portal or via Aarogya Setu mobile app.
