  • Actress Deepika Padukone being questioned by Narcotics Control Bureau
  • NCB will also question Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, today
  • The NCB widened its drug probe in Sushant Singh Rajput death case

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is being questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a widening drugs probe linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case investigations. She had arrived for questioning today morning at the Evelyn Guest House in Colaba, Mumbai, where the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Special Investigation Team has set up its base.

Apart from Deepika Padukone, NCB also issued summons to other Bollywood actresses including Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, who will also be questioned today.

Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor are expected to be questioned at the NCB office in Ballard Estate.

Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash, who was questioned on Friday, has also reached the NCB office for questioning for the second round, today. Prakash’s questioning went on for much longer than actor Rakul Preet Singh’s, which lasted four hours, as per reports.

The Narcotics Control Bureau questioned actress Rakul Preet Singh along with Deepika’s manager Karishma Prakash about the contents of WhatsApp chat which allegedly indicated marijuana was bought for consumption.

The deep investigation into Bollywood’s drug links began when the actress Rhea Chakraborty’s questioning revealed some of the big names from the film industry, three months after Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai home on June 14.

As per reports the NCB, whose mandate is to go after the bigger fishes and not just the individual customers, has said that the agency was questioning Bollywood A-listers to understand the network of supply through alleged consumers.

One thing to be noted here is that none of these actors has been named as accused in any drugs probe case, and are only being questioned.

During her questioning before the arrest, actress Rhea Chakraborty reportedly named stars which including Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in connection with drugs use. However, her lawyer has denied this claim.

According to the bail petition filed by actress Rhea Chakraborty in the Bombay High Court, she said that Sara Ali Khan was also Sushant Singh Rajput’s co-star in the film “Kedarnath”; Sushant Rajput developed the drugs habit while shooting the film.

Sushant Singh’s family through their Advocate Vikas Singh showed their displeasure over the direction of the investigation calling “the NCB probe too going in the same direction like Mumbai Police probe… calling big names for questioning just to get attention”.
