On Tuesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty for procuring and consuming drugs.
The arrest comes after three days of successive questioning by the NCB.
KPS Malhotra, Deputy Director of NCB said, “Rhea has been arrested and due process of informing the family has been completed,”.
The 28 year old actress was being questioned by the NCB over drug abuse case in connection with the death of 34 year old actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14. The NCB had questioned her for around eight hours on Monday and before that for 6 hours on Sunday.
Rhea Chakraborty was confronted with her younger brother Showik Chakraborty who is 24 years old along with Sushant’s House Manager Samuel Miranda (33) and his house staffer Dipesh Sawant to establish their roles in the alleged drug racket.
Showik Chakbrborty along with 2 others were arrested by the NCB last week. Rhea Chakraborty’s family and lawyer had said that they anticipate her arrest after Showik was taken into custody.

The narcotics agency earlier said that it had obtained mobile phone chat records and other pieces of electronic data which suggested that some banned drugs were allegedly obtained by these people.
Lt Col (Retd) Indrajeet Chakraborty, father of Rhea Chakroborty, after the arrest of his son, issued an emotional statement saying, “Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I’m sure next on the line is my daughter and I don’t know who is next thereafter,”.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also registered an FIR (First Information Report) against Chakraborty and others in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Rhea was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) earlier and also the CBI which are also probing different angles surrounding Rajput’s death.
The autopsy report of Sushant Singh Rajput had indicated that had committed suicide, however, his father and family members feel otherwise. Sushant’s father filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna accusing her of driving his son to suicide and also financially cheating his son.
Rhea Chakraborty has denied the allegations on several occasions.
