The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started questioning both Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death which it is investigating after Supreme Court’s order.
The 28 year old actress has been accused of playing a role in the death of the 34 year old Sushant Singh Rajput, by his family. They allege that Rhea and her family mentally harassed him and took his money.
The CBI initiated its investigation in the death case of Sushant Singh after the Supreme Court of India passed its order. The investigation is based on the First Informational Report (FIR) which was filed by Sushant Singh’s father in Patna, Bihar which has named Rhea Chakraborty and her family among others in the death of the actor.
Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty was questioned by the CBI in Mumbai for 14 hours straight on 27th of August which went on until midnight.
On the same date, Rhea Chakraborty gave an interview to one of the leading news agency on the country where she said that she is “broken” by the allegations, speculations and the investigations against her and her family.

She said, “My family is being treated like terrorists…Tomorrow if something happens to us because of the media pressure … I am part of three investigations, all I have left is my spirit. That is also being crushed,”.
When she was asked if she is afraid of being arrested, she said, “I don’t think I am going to be arrested tomorrow. I have done nothing to be arrested.”
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is currently inquiring into alleged money laundering and fraud charges against Rhea Chakraborty and her family, questioned her father Indrajit Chakraborty yesterday.
The ED, reportedly, searched the bank lockers of the Chakraborty family for 6 hours in the presence of Rhea Chakraborty’s father. He was with the Enforcement Directorate team till 9 PM, say sources. Additionally, ED has asked for bills and other purchase proofs of all the jewellery they have found.
On the 14th of June, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra home and the Mumbai Police called it a suicide and started investigating the case as a connection with nepotism in the film industry, cliques and toxic rivalries.
Sometime later, the investigations changed its direction when the late actor’s family started raising allegations against her then-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, who was in a live-in relationship with him.
Last week the Supreme Court of India said that all investigations done so far in Sushant Singh’s death case by the Bihar Police as well as the Maharashtra Police would be handed to the CBI. As a part of the investigations, a team from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) from Delhi will travel to Mumbai to examine Sushant Singh Rajput’s autopsy reports.
Siddharth Pithani, who was Sushant Singh Rajput’s flat mate, has been questioned by the CBI for 7 consecutive days and has been called in for further questioning today as well. The CBI has also summoned the manager of last actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Samuel Miranda.
The NCB, also called the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has opened a new line of inquiry into drugs-related allegations based on the WhatsApp chats which were retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s phone.
The WhatsApp chat had been seized for investigations. After the new revelations, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father accused Rhea Chakraborty of “poisoning” his son.
Talking to the news agency, Rhea Chakraborty said, “I have never taken drugs in my life and I don’t know any drug dealer. It is unfortunate we have to speak about it but the Pandora’s Box was opened by his family.”
She added, “I wanted his memory to be pristine and beautiful as he was a beautiful boy. He used to smoke marijuana. That was the only aspect of his life that I was trying to control.”
Interestingly, the WhatsApp chat retrieved of Rhea Chakraborty showed her saying she has taken drugs in a chat from the year 2017, even before she started dating Sushant Singh Rajput.
