On Thursday, actress Rhea Chakraborty shared screenshots of a message she received on Instagram where a user has threatened her with rape and murder. She was even told to “commit suicide” or else she would be “killed”.
Along with sharing the troll messasges, the 28 year old actress revealed she has been called a “gold-digger, a murderer” earlier and has also been “slut-shamed”.
She has reached out to the Mumbai Police Cyber Crime department to take immediate action, Rhea said, “I was called a gold digger ..I kept quiet I was called a murderer ….I kept quiet I was slut shamed ….I kept quiet. “
She added, “But how does my silence give you the right to tell me that you will get me RAPED and MURDERED if I don’t commit suicide @mannu_raaut ?”
“Do you realize the seriousness of what you have said? These are crimes, and by law no one, I repeat NO ONE should be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment.”
“I request @cyber_crime_helpline @cybercrimeindia to please take necessary action.”
And added the post caption by writing, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”
On Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the entire Social Media enraged. Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide on the 14th of June in his Mumbai home and a section of the internet blamed a few people from the Bollywood fraternity for his sudden demise as he was said to be under a lot of stress and is said to be battling depression.
Rhea Chakraborty was a close friend of Sushant’s and she was among the people who were interrogated by the Mumbai Police department in the investigations of Sushant Singh’s suicide. Apart from Rhea Chakraborty, some family members of Sushant Singh Rajput, his friends, work associates and house helps were also called in to record their statements.
