15 year old Jyoti Kumari showed her excellence when she cycled close to 1,200 kilometres from Gurugram to Bihar. Both Jyoti and her father were stranded in Gurugram when the nationwide lockdown was imposed to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
The lockdown left the 15 year old with no other choice but to cycle all the way to her native place in Bihar which took her 7 days.
This incident has truly opened the door with great opportunities for Jyoti. Earlier, Onkar Singh, Chairman of Cycling Federation of India said that if Jyoti would pass their trial then she will be selected as a trainee at the National Cycling Academy at the IGI Stadium complex in Delhi. Singh also said that if Jyoti is interested in this opportunity, she will not worry about her travel and other expenses as they will be taken care of.
