Nicki Minaj makes a comeback with her brand-new song, "Super Freaky Girl," ahead of her appearance at the 2022 MTV VMAs later this month.
The song features explicit bars from Nicki while also using the Rick James song "Super Freak" from 1981.
Thursday saw the release of "Super Freaky Girl" as well as the long-awaited return of Queen Radio, which debuted a brand-new episode on Amazon's brand-new live radio service Amp.
The most recent episode of the show was released on Apple Music in early 2020.
The latest song and collaboration from Nicki Minaj this year, "Super Freaky Girl" follows work with Lil Baby ("Do We Have A Problem?" and "Bussin"), Fivio Foreign ("We Go Up"), and Coi Leray ("Blick Blick").
Since releasing the stand-alone single "Megatron" in July of 2019, "Super Freaky Girl" is Minaj's first solo album.
Even without the aforementioned single releases, Minaj has already had a busy year.
She will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 MTV VMAs, where she will also perform on August 28, it was announced earlier this week.
