A young man who worked as an engineer at Netflix and earned Rs 3.5 crore per year unexpectedly quit.

Do you know why he resigned from his job?

Michael Lin from China quit his job after he got bored, and the job became monotonous for him.

Michael Lin, a former Amazon employee, joined Netflix in 2017 as a Senior Software Engineer.

"I made $450,000 a year (about Rs 3.5 crore), got free food daily, and had unlimited paid time off. It was the Big Tech dream," Lin said.

That's why, when Lin resigned in May 2021, and everyone thought he was crazy.

Lin mentioned that his parents were the first to oppose. For them, him leaving the job was like throwing away their hard work of immigrating to the United States.

Lin stated that he enjoyed his job during his first few years, but once Covid hit, practically everything Lin enjoyed about his employment - the networking, coworkers, and perks - vanished.

But, all this was not easy. Lin was concerned that the move would have an impact on his career and social life, but the reverse occurred. He started his own business and claims to have met more people through this.
